The Cannon Celebrates Grand Opening of Flagship Campus

HOUSTON, (October 25, 2019) – To celebrate the completion of its 120,0000 square foot flagship facility located at 1334 Brittmoore Road, The Cannon hosted its Grand Opening on Thursday, October 24.

The lively event featured several activations throughout the new building, including programming at The Cannon’s “Mental Break Stations” featuring a puppy pen and massage corner, music and games in the courtyard, a live fundraising event from LetsLaunch, and the signing of the Grand Opening Mural to document and celebrate the occasion.

During the celebration, The Cannon’s Founder and CEO, Lawson Gow, conducted an official ribbon-cutting and led a grand toast thanking partners and supporters for their contributions in building the entrepreneurial community over the past 18 months. Gow also announced that with over 250 companies in The Cannon’s current community and only three of its 131 offices remaining, office space at the main campus is nearly sold out. Further, in celebration of the grand opening, The Cannon has invited startups, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses to join The Cannon’s community as an Open Member before November 1st to receive a complimentary first month.

“It’s been incredible watching The Cannon come to life since it was a drawing on a whiteboard. There are far too many people to thank – from the first community members that joined us in The Waiting Room more than 18 months ago, the numerous partners, investors, ecosystem members and resources that have helped us get where we are today, all the way to our new members who patiently waited for the space to open. Each person had a major part in getting us where we are today. We knew that Houston was in desperate need of a resource like this and are thankful to be able to build this community and fulfill our mission of supporting Houston’s entrepreneurs.” - The Cannon Founder & CEO Lawson GowNew
The success of the main campus located in the emerging Founders District of Houston is only a starting point for The Cannon. As the organization continues to establish itself as a leader in building entrepreneurial communities, The Cannon team now looks to the opening of additional locations throughout the city of Houston. The Cannon – Post Oak at 675 Bering is the first of many satellite locations and, announced during the event, a new downtown location will be opening before the end of the year.
