Through different people, projects, and potholes, entrepreneurs often walk alone. One struggle all entrepreneurs empathize with – connection. Starting and growing a business demands constant networking, whether finding partners, mentors, vendors, funders, peers, or clients. While spending so much time honing their business, entrepreneurs often find it difficult to maintain the networking schedule necessary to learn and grow. Startup Grind provides a platform for innovative entrepreneurial warriors to come together and bridge those gaps.
What started in Silicon Valley as a local “fire-side chat” aiming to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs, has now flourished into a 300 city, 115 country community supporting entrepreneurs worldwide. Startup Grind hosts monthly events where successful local founders, innovators, educators and investors gather to share lessons they’ve learned on the road to building their companies. These events not only bring entrepreneurs together under the same roof, they help each individual network while simultaneously providing tools for their company’s growth.
The Power of Startup Grind
Part of the power Startup Grind generates comes from its industry agnostic approach. By remaining agnostic, Startup Grind promotes collaborative diversity in their community while still allowing for industry-specific mentoring. Recently, Startup Grind’s Houston Chapter partnered with The Cannon Houston to combine their efforts in fostering Houston’s startup community and entrepreneurial growth. The Cannon continues to rise as Houston’s newest coworking space, hosting roughly 40 companies and hundreds of freelancers. On the Cannon campus, as in Startup Grind fire-side chats, you’ll find startups of every size and specialty working in the same space. Startup Grind plans to capitalize on that growing ecosystem’s energy to do what they do best – bring entrepreneurs together.
Startup Grind’s Houston Director, Michele Price, expressed her excitement regarding the new partnership – “Startup Grind Houston is thrilled to be a strategic partner with The Cannon. We look forward to developing 2018 programming to serve Houston’s entrepreneurial community by accessing the success of both our legacy and startup entrepreneurs, because The Cannon is building a campus where entrepreneurs, creatives, freelancers, and professional services can all grow their businesses together, creating a true startup ecosystem. It is a natural fit our Startup Grind’s vision and mission.”
Collaboration between The Cannon and Startup Grind only spells success for Houston’s creative and startup community. These two entrepreneurial ecosystems already provide countless tools for Houston’s creatives. Their combined efforts should only serve to heighten awareness, education, and productivity in the Houston community.
