sEATz, Win-Win Highlight First Cannon Ventures Pitch Night

Over 400 potential investors and supporters of the Houston Startup Ecosystem packed The Cannon on Thursday night to hear pitches from two of Houston’s most exciting startups – sEATz and Win-Win. The event was the first of many pitch nights that will be hosted by Cannon Ventures, a new investor network and venture studio that will be anchored out of The Cannon.

Guests were greeted by custom folders produced by printing partner InfoVine and enjoyed snacks and beverages from a variety of event partners, all who shared Cannon Ventures’ dedication to growing the Houston startup ecosystem. And following an introduction from ESPN Radio Host/Houston sports media legend (and fellow sports entrepreneur) Lance Zeirlein and a rousing speech by The Cannon and Cannon Ventures CEO Lawson Gow, it was time for the main event.

Win-Win Wows the Crowd
Leading the Sports Tech Pitch Night off was Houston native (but begrudgingly a current Silicon Valley resident) Mike T. Brown. Brown started his company, Win-Win, after a winding career that featured stops at Duke University, the NFL and eventually as a lead growth manager for a Silicon Valley startup.

Once Mike saw an opportunity to connect athletes with their fans via online competitions, all in the name of promoting that athlete’s respective charity, Win-Win was born. After an award-winning path through the prestigious startup accelerator 500 Startups, Brown is in full growth mode and is currently fundraising for his next round. And while presently marooned in Silicon Valley, Brown hopes to transition back to his hometown of Houston and become a part of the tremendous startup ecosystem currently under development in our city.

sEATz Closes With A Bang
Following an engaging and exciting pitch from Brown, Houston-based sEATz took the stage and continued the momentum with another fantastic presentation. No one likes waiting in line. sEATz combats that live event inevitability through an on-demand in-seat delivery application for fans at stadiums and venues, creating an even better game day experience for fans across sports, music and live events.

Led by Co-Founders Marshall Law and Aaron Knape, as well as lead developer Craig Ceccanti, sEATz has piloted at numerous venues and events in the Houston area in their first month in action, including Rice Football and Sugar Land Skeeters games, and has averaged under 8 minutes of delivery time per order. And they won’t be limited to just food and beverages; by next year sEATz could be bringing your favorite jersey or even autographed items right to your seat! With the possibility to operate within thousands of venues across the US, sEATz potential is nearly unlimited.
